KEY THINGS TO CONSIDER
REQUIREMENTS
All requirements must be met.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to provide proof
- Must possess a valid Driver's License
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must hold a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Must pass a comprehensive criminal background investigation
- No felony convictions
- Must pass a polygraph examination
- Must pass a pyschological evaluation
- Must pass a drug screening
- Must pass a physical fitness test to Georgia Department of Public Safety standards
- Vision: Minimum 20/60 uncorrected in each eye, correctable to 20/40 or better with glasses or contacts
- Must meet requirements for P.O.S.T. certification by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council

DIGNITARY PROTECTION
Equipped and ready — Capitol Police officers patrol Georgia's government campus in some of the most capable vehicles in state law enforcement.
THE FLEETTRAINING & EDUCATION
Capitol Police officers attend a regional POST-certified academy to earn their Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training certification. You'll be paid the entire time, and graduate ready to protect Georgia's seat of government.
